vLite - программа для создания своего загрузочного диска с ОС Windows Vista. С помощью vLite можно удалять ненужные компоненты, интегрировать свои драйвера, изменять стандартные значения реестра, применяя свои настройки, а также автоматизировать процесс установки системы Windows Vista. После внесения всех изменений в дистрибутив Windows Vista, программа может создать из него загрузочный ISO образ, который полностью готов к записи на диск. Разработчики утверждают, что, используя их утилиту, можно уменьшить размер дистрибутива Vista Ultimate до 675 мб и при этом сохранить функциональность Windows XP. Кроме того, удаление некоторых компонентов системы позволяет заметно сократить использование оперативной памяти новой ОС.Для работы программы необходимо наличие установленного в системе .NET Framework 2.0.

This tool doesn't use any kind of hacking, all files and registry entries are protected as they would be if you install the full version only without the components you select for the removal.
It configures the installation directly, before the installation, meaning you'll have to remake the ISO and reinstall it. This method is much cleaner, not to mention easier and more logical than doing it after installation on every reinstall.
