µTorrent is an efficient and feature rich BitTorrent client for Windows sporting a very small footprint. µTorrent was designed to use as little cpu, space and memory as possible while offering all the functionalites expected from advanced clients. 1.7 stable is finally here, after months of development. The biggest changes were full Vista support and the removal of the 65,536 piece limit for torrents.
Also added was support for finding local peers (peers on the same LAN) and optionally not having any upload restrictions for them.
It is also possible to turn on automatic updating for betas now, found in the "Other" section of the preferences.
Changes in µTorrent Version 1.7 (build 3341), 2007-07-12:
- Change: use cached scrape stats if scrapes fail (up to 24 hours)
- Change: "When µTorrent has reached the seeding goal" -> "When µTorrent Reaches Seeding Goal" in Queue preferences to make capitalization consistant
- Change: Implement auto-resizing when header a divider in the addtorrent dialog treeview is double-clicked
- Change: Rework accelerator keys of toplevel menus in the download list right-click menu so that there are no duplicate accelerator keys
- Change: Use 48x48 icon
- Fix: crashes with addtorrent dialog treeview with torrents with a very large number of files in the same folder (100+)
